Atmospheric Studies
MORERaymetrics has a strong history of building exceptional LIDARs for scientific atmospheric applications.
We can provide several different types of LIDARs including Backscatter, Raman, Micropulse and DIAL LIDARs, capable of measuring a variety of parameters.

Visual Ranging
MORERaymetrics now offers a Visual Ranger which measures visibility through the air with a range of up to 10 km (depending on atmospheric conditions), for use in airports.
For this application we provide an eye-safe 3D scanning system which can be placed at the end of the runway and automatically measures Slant Visual Range (SVR) - the visibility pilots have on approach. The system conforms to draft International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) ISO specifications.

Dust Detection
MOREDust Tracking is extremely important in several industries, including for example the mining industry, where dust from mining activities can be a huge problem.
For this application we provide a 3D scanning system which is capable of tracking dust in realtime, provides 3 dimensional range-corrected scans showing exactly where dust is located, and can be pre-configured to send out an alarm signal if required.

Wildfire Early Warning
MOREThe Raymetrics Wildire Detection LIDAR is a fully automated system which can protect an area the size of a city from wildfires.
The system works by scanning the air above the protection zone for fire smoke. High sensitivity means wildfires can be detected early and can be combatted quickly. Upon detection of a fire the system automatically sends out a warning to alert the relevant authorities.

Volcanic Ash Detection
MOREThe Raymetrics LR101-V model Raman LIDAR is a highly automated active laser remote sensing instrument designed to provide unambiguous detection of volcanic ash.
Raymetrics has a decade of experience designing exactly these Raman LIDARs for scientific applications. We are now proud to offer this system tailored specifically for volcanic ash detection.
Headlines
A short video of one of our LIDARs being used in Santiago, Chile has just been released.
In December 2011 Raymetrics delivered the first Fog Detection system to Meteo France, for use at Charles de Gaulle airport.
Raymetrics is extremely proud to announce the launch of its Volcanic Ash Detector, available from January 2012.
January 2012 has seen the development of this all new website for Raymetrics S.A.
Partnerships
Through partnerships Raymetrics is able to augment its products with several other types of atmospheric LIDARs. These include wind doppler LIDARs for both the troposphere and stratosphere.
Raymetrics is also a distributor of OWIS Optical Beam Handling Systems and Positioning Systems.
